Cheer Information

Levels:

• Flag - Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grades
• Pee-Wee - 3rd & 4th Grades
• Biddy - 5th Grades
• Midget - 6th, 7th, & 8th Grades
• Competition - 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th Grades

Competition Team:

• For experienced skilled cheerleaders.
• Try-outs in the spring are required.
• High level of commitment.
• Practices four nights a week for two & a half hours a night in summer.
• Fall practices are two to three times a week for approximately five hours a week.
• Absences not permitted.
• Travel with the Junior Varsity Team is required.
• Competition date will be held during football season.

Practice Commitments:

• Flag - Twice a week in summer for one hour, once a week after school begins.
• Pee-Wee - Three times a week in summer for an hour & a half, twice a week after  school begins.
• Biddy - Three times a week in summer for two hours, twice a week after school begins.
• Midget - Three times a week in summer for two hours, twice a week after school begins.
• Competition - Four times a week in summer for two & a half hours, two to three times a week after school begins.

Practice Locations:

• Summer - Held at the Watchung Hills Regional High School Turf Field
• Fall - Held at various schools in the district

Game Locations:

• Flags - Harry Alley Sports Complex
• Pee-Wee - Harry Alley Sports Complex & National Starch Field
• Biddy - Harry Alley Sports Complex & National Starch Field
• Midget - Travel with the Junior Warriors Varsity Team
• Competition - Travel with the Junior Warriors Junior Varsity Team

Uniforms:

• Uniforms are provided by the Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors and must be returned at the end of the season.
• Please wash the uniforms in cold water and line dry or lay flat.
• Anyone who fails to return a uniform or returns it in a poor condition will be required to reimburse the organization for that uniform.
• Cheerleaders are required to purchase the necessary accessories to complete the uniform: Body Slimmer, brief, socks, sneakers, & hair bows.

Junior Warrior Night:

A night when the Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors Organization is announced onto the football field prior to the start of a varsity game. The cheerleaders are provided the opportunity to cheer alongside the high school varsity cheerleaders, while we show our support for our high school. Check our calendar of events for date.

Fan Appreciation Night:

This night is a fun night to come out and watch our Junior Varsity and Varsity teams under the lights. There are prizes for all Jr. Warrior family and friends. Check our calendar of events for date.

Cheer Exhibition:

A place for our cheerleaders to showcase all of their hard work at the end of our season. Check our calendar of events for dates & location.

Award Ceremonies:

At the end of the season we will honor all of our participants in a short ceremony. Check our calendar of events for dates & location.
